Ken
Shelton is an attorney who bred and showed Tennessee
Walking Horses for over 40 years. He became interested in
the Peruvian horses and purchased his first Peruvian in
1995.
Vicky
Shelton is a former Nutritionist/Dietitian who grew up
with horses on their farm in South Carolina and returned
to horses in 1982 when she discovered the Peruvian Horse.
She bought, showed and bred Peruvians and established a
training center in Tennessee, Liddle Peruvians.
The first Drill team "Pasobilities
of the South" was started as an effort to give owners
a chance to participate in the promotion of the Peruvian
Horse in the mid-south. She is currently a Judge for the
Peruvian Paso horse.
Shelton
Farm Peruvians is located on a 160 acre farm in North
Alabama that Ken has owned for over 30 years. Since Ken
and Vicky have combined their horses, several new pastures
and stall facilities have been added to the property.
Armando
Alca has moved from Tennessee and Carlos Gallegos from
Peru to help maintain a large
breeding, training and showing operation for the Sheltons.
With 8 grandchildren to keep happy, Ken has established
many trails, picnic areas, and a well stocked pond to
enhance the ambiance of the farm. All of the children love
the horses, so even the stallions receive TLC and an
occasional carrot and only have to repay by an occasional
passenger on the back or front of the saddle.
